Collaboration

                                               WHAT-WHY-HOW-WHO-WHEN-WHERE

Subject: Dialects
Theme: Buffalax - India
Activity: Role-play

What is the project going to be about:
The project is about teaching the pupils about different dialects which are extend from english.

The aim of the project:
  • expand your understanding of dialects
  • using your body language
  • words - taking a word and use in different context
  • creativity

Why have we chosen this subject:
We have chosen this subject to understand how language and dialects changes, and how we use words and how words are developed. It is something we all use in our daily lives, so we can communicate with others.

Why is it suitable for international collaborative work:

It is good because we get a certain understanding of other countries and their languages.

How are we going to plan/organize the project:
  • the teacher divides the class in groups, 4 members in each group.
  • the teacher gives a list of 3 or 4 different India buffalax music video/episode from a film
  • The groups contact and research foreign schools or sites and get information about the language
  • Each group make a role play/scene by turning the dialogue into something recognizable as english, without understanding the actual meaning. The english words which appear in the indian dialect serve as a tool to help distinguish what is being said/done.
How to evaluate:

  • Each group make a presentation of what they have been doing in the project week
  • Class discussion - compare the other countries customs with their own
  • The other groups give feedback on how they understand the role-play and language.
  • Make a scheme about whether they liked the songs, role-play
  • Feedback lesson, where they can praise or criticize the project and comment for improvements.
  • Ask the whole class if they enjoyed the music
  • The teacher gives her/his opinion

How can the students learn something? achieve, goal

  • The students will achieve better understanding of dialects, deviations of the english language.
  • It encourages students to be creative.
  • It improves their ability to understand what is happening/being said, whilst observing the body language.
  • It strengthens vocabulary and different use of words.
  • The students understanding of role-play can improve and help them to develop their own character.

How are you going to exhibit/show the project in school or to the parents?
Each group will present their work for the class.

Nice work. Good overview and I like your setting up in points. Though I miss your time table - how long time is the project going to take place?
Your evaluation points are very good:)

    All the best
