Multicultural education incorporates every student's native culture into the curriculum. It is teaching peaceful education.   It promotes diversity and embraces the different backgrounds of each student. It ensures that every student feels safe at school.

It is about helping students develop accurate self concepts and accurate conceptions of others. Each level consists of different support to help students attain their ultimate goal. It is the " Levels" of Multicultural Education according to Sonia Nieto. 
Level 1: Monocultural, Level 2: Tolerance, Level 3: Acceptance, Level 4: Respect, Level 5: Affirmation, Solidarity, Critique.

What makes multicultural education different from regular education? It is regular education because it recognize our differences. Children want and need to know about the important contributions in different countries. It discuss about the positive and negative about teaching students multicultural education.

This video gives a clear perspective of what is multicultural education. The video shows really interesting pictures that describes in pictures and words what multicultural education is. The video also gets around social justice. Who define social justice; writers? teachers? theorists? like liberty and justice, Multicultural Education is an ideal towards which human beings work but never fully attain. The goals will never be fully realized.

    You have selected some very interesting videos which try to define and give examples of multicultural education. We can all learn from these. The last one includes quotes by James Banks who is one of the really important educationalist specializing in multicultura education.
    I would have like to have seen your list of activities in class as well as your reflection on the quotes I gave you.
